questions before swapping

hey guys,

we are a growing Media company involved in graphic design, photography, video and web design and are looking at switching our current hosting packages to you guys...

is that a hard process? we have 3 site we are looking at swapping (which have their own domains already) and then a 4th site which we would like to create on your servers...

we are still undecided on the exact packages for a few of them but we know that we are definately going to get your DOMINATION plan (1000 GB bandwidth)
with the bonus bandwidth "only available for yearly packages" that would mean that the pre-pay packages (1,2,3 etc years) are the ones you are talking about?

another thing is the 4th site we are looking at getting hosted will be a stock images site so it will be forever expanding (hence the DOMINATION plan) but one thing we would like to know about that plan is whether or not there is a file size limit?
we will be hosting stock images and HD videos which will easily be in excess on 50mb with the potential of exceeding 75-100mb per single file and therfore cannot really use your hosting services if the maximum file allowance is 10mb (which our current hosts is)

if there is such a limitation is there the possiblility of exemptment, special circumstances or a process we can go through to change this limitation?


also because we have a web design branch do you offer any kind of reseller/refering discounts if we choose to host all our clients websites with you aswell?

that is alot of questions for one post but we have been looking around for a while now and the hosts we have found who also do unlimited hosting have alot of little things in the fine print (such as file size limitations etc)
so we would like to know exactly what we are getting into before going ahead with your hosting packages.

Thank you for your inquiry, in order to transfer your sites across to Unlimited-Space you will need to do the following:

Transferring Accounts:
- Transfer your files across to our server. If your current host uses cPanel then we can transfer all your files/email accounts/databases etc over to our servers. You will need to provide us with your username & password to access your current cPanel.

- Once the hosting account has been setup with Unlimited-Space we will provide you with a testing address which can be used to view your website for the purposes of development.

- Once the website is ready to start pointing to our servers you will need to change over your name servers across to the following:

Primary: ns24.unlimited-space.com
Secondary: bk1.unlimited-space.com

Bonus Bandwidth
Bonus bandwidth applies to yearly accounts, when an account is renewed 50% bonus bandwidth is provided as a loyalty reward to you. If you choose to renew with Unlimited-Space in 2009 you will be awarded with 500GB of FREE bandwidth, so your total amount of bandwidth will jump from 1000GB to 1500GB When renewing your account for 1 year, the bonus bandwidth will jump up to a higher value when renewing your account for multiple years.

High data storage: Unlimited-Space.com offers an unlimited use policy by maintaining very large ratios of storage space per customer. In rare cases, Unlimited-Space.com may find a customer to be using server resources to such an extent that he or she may jeopardize server performance and resources for other customers. In such instances, Unlimited-Space.com reserves the right to impose the High Resource User Policy for the consideration of all customers.

When uploading to our servers using FTP there is no "maximum file size allowance" set, the file can be any size.

the bonus bandwidth thing sounds really good, definately something that sets you guys above the rest...

with the "High Resource users" you say that it is "only implemented in extreme circumstances"...

what kind of 'extreme' are we talking?
so say our website started small but slowly grew and got to 100GB+ (not that we are expecting it to get that big any time soon)

is there an exact site size when you start deciding that a site is too big... and if so, when it is suspended is the site deleted automatically or are the files still kept on your server while discussions are made about aditional fees?

and no file size limitations are definately a good thing for our sites use.

yes our current host uses CPanel, so once we have our servers setup here we just send an email to you letting you know all those details (support@unlimited-Space.com) or to a different address?

Yes, support@unlimited-space.com is the correct address. We can then login and use the CPanel backup feature to transfer your entire account to our server. Usually we can do this process on the same day of the request.

The Unlimited Use Policy would only come into effect if your website is beginning to affect other users websites on the same server. For example, your website creates so much processor load that it is actually slowing down the server. In a situation such as this, we would normally temporarily suspended the account and contact the owner directly to discuss a way to rectify the problem.

A full CPanel backup will include everything within your account, including any CPanel settings, emails and email accounts, databases etc.

However, I would still suggest you leave an overlap of your hosting accounts. This will allow you to check everything within the restored account is functioning correctly before you shut down the original hosting account, and also to avoid any downtime whilst the DNS updates.
